As we say goodbye to 2015, and look to start fresh in the new year, an “all gold everything” party seems very appropriate. We’ve got everything covered for your new years bash with DIY sparkly countdowns and glasses, a bubbly bar, a photobooth for guests, and of course, a glittery cocktail.
Countdown is on…
What’s NYE without a countdown? Here’s a fun way to add some sparkle to your countdown. Gather your countdown numbers. Modge podge sparkles onto the numbers. Display your countdown for your guests.
NYE cocktails call for sparkly glasses
We love the idea of going all out for New Years – so why not make special NYE cocktail glasses. Follow these simple steps to DIY:
- Pick a glass with a smooth surface (wine, shot glass, cocktail, ect.)
- Gather loose glitter, decoupage glue/glitter glass paint, and painter’s tape.
- Clean your glass
- Paint on glue
- Shake glitter onto glue-covered area
- Leave the glass to dry for 24 hours
Offer guests a “Bubbly Bar”
Every year we gather our loved ones to celebrate “out with the old, in with the new.” Whether you had a year filled with triumph and success or the complete opposite, there’s a reason to celebrate. When the clock strikes 12:00, a brand new year has begun. What better way to celebrate than popping the bubbly. Take a spin on the classic glass of champagne, and offer your guests an opportunity to create their own champagne cocktail.
For our Bubbly Bar we offered:
- Korbel California Champagne
- Chambord Black Raspberry Liquor
- Finlandia Vodka
- White Grapefruit Juice
- Passion Fruit Juice
The beauty of a Bubbly Bar is your guests have the freedom to make whatever cocktail suits them. Here at the How-to-Hostess, we kept it simple with a 3 ingredient process to take a fun twist on a classic mimosa.
If you’re looking to take things up a notch, we whipped up a sparkly cocktail, “All that Glitters” combining 4 ingredients.
- 1 oz. Finlandia Vodka
- .75 oz. Chambord Black Raspberry Liquor
- 1 oz. White Grapefruit Juice
- Garnish with a cherry
These days, everyone wants to document special moments in their life with pictures. Give some life to your standard NYE picture and set up a photobooth with props and frames for your guests! Offer glitter frames, 2016 signs, party hats and horns. These pictures are sure to rake in some serious Instagram likes.
